The South West Federation golf croquet league final was held on Monday 18th Sept. Bristol hosted the event which saw CPCC take on Winterborne Valley from deepest Dorset.
Winterborne Valley fielded a super-strong team and from the outset it was clear it was going to be a tough day for us.
At lunchtime, after three rounds, we were trailing 1-9 and the match was slipping away. The afternoon was no easier and we called it a day with the score at CPCC 2 – WV 14.
Special mention to Michelle Leonard who had only just recovered from covid and battled valiently winning her four games.
Many thanks also to Bristol CC for hosting, providing a referee (who told some of us off for hitting our practise shots too hard) and most of all, a splendid peanut butter & banana cake.
